AstroTrack requires your location to provide accurate astronomical calculations:
- Satellite Pass Predictions: Calculate when satellites like the ISS will be visible from your exact location
- Sky Positioning: Show you exactly where to look in the sky for satellites and space objects
- Local Space Events: Notify you of space events visible from your area
- Accurate Timing: Provide precise rise and set times for astronomical objects
We DO NOT: Share your location with third parties, use it for advertising, or store it permanently.
Device Information
We collect basic device information including device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information to ensure the App functions properly on your device and for ad serving.
Usage Data and Analytics

- N2YO.com: Real-time satellite tracking data

5. Location Permission Disclosure
📍 Why AstroTrack Needs Location Access
When you first use satellite tracking features, AstroTrack will request foreground location permission. Here's exactly why:
- Satellite Visibility: To calculate which satellites are visible from your specific location
- ISS Tracking: To predict when the International Space Station will pass over your area
- Sky Mapping: To show accurate star maps and constellation positions for your location
- Real-time Calculations: Location is only used when the app is open and active
Important: We do NOT use background location access. Location is only accessed when you're actively using satellite tracking features.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:
- Secure data transmission using HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Firebase security rules and authentication
- Regular security assessments and updates
- Access controls and authentication mechanisms
- Minimal data retention policies
